I Wanna Run!



Although I have participated in a number of running events over the past five years, my fitness was not great until 2013. Therefore, I will document my times for events from 2013 onwards as these are in line with the goals I am trying to achieve.

2015 Events Completed:

22nd March, 2015 - Run for Kids - 5.5km
Finish Time: 39:04
18 weeks pregnant, not able to do 15km due to reduction in running due to sore hips.

2014 Events Completed:

27th July, 2014 - Run Melbourne - 10km
Finish Time: 1:02:39 (Official)
5km Split: 31:20
6 weeks pregnant at time

11th May, 2014 - Mother's Day Classic - 8km
Finish Time: 44:30
An improvement of 6:50 on course from previous year.

3rd May, 2014 - Run the Rock - 19km
Finish Time: 2:04:45
Quite sick in the few days leading up to this run

27th April, 2014 - Brimbank Running Festival - 21.1km
Finish Time: 2:09:48 (Official)

13th April, 2014 - Run for Kids - 15km

4th in my age group (18-39) and 5th overall

Need to work as being able to maintain the same speed through the entire course. In order to go this, I will concentrate on some shorter distances and introducing hills/endurance and speed into my running routine. I am pretty happy with the times. It would have been awesome to run sub 4:30 but for a first marathon, getting over that finish line was enough for me!
